A socially responsible event. What is it?
In recent times, CSR is a very popular abbreviation under which more and more activities are undertaken by companies operating both on the international and local market. And more specifically?
Corporate Social Responsibility, according to theoreticians, “the organization’s responsibility for their impact on society.” This is primarily about voluntary actions that in a certain way improve the situation and well-being of society. As a result, companies undertake, for example, to carry out a social campaign that encourages recycling or moving by public transport. The goal is one – improving the state of the environment. Such an enterprise is very well perceived in the eyes of employees and, above all, customers, which is also essential for the sales results.
CSR projects may concern all kinds of elements of the company’s environment – not only the ecological sphere but also the social, economic or ethical one. They can be one-off, although it is not uncommon that they are repeated systematically. These activities are usually directed to one specific target group, and each campaign may be aimed at creating other values.
Interest in them is already huge. There are numerous events, most often in the form of integration events, within which its participants undertook various social activities. We can mention here: painting classes at school, building a dog’s shelter, collecting clothing for the homeless, creating baubles and handing them over to the kindergarten, as well as baking gingerbreads for children in the orphanage.
Among this type of action, it is also very common to run ecological and sports games among employees and their children, promoting outdoor leisure activities or indulging in their favorite disciplines.
The popularity of corporate social responsibility should not come as a surprise. In addition to the obvious benefits of companies supporting certain values, the enterprise is also very clear in the pursuit of such activities. Undertakings as part of CSR are primarily a way to create a positive image of the company in the eyes of future and current customers. It is also a patent for increasing its competitiveness and investor interest. What’s more, thanks to joint actions that engage and at the same time integrate employees, their attitude to work changes, which has a positive impact on the atmosphere in the company and, consequently, its future results.
